Tachibana Koushi's Date a Live was a very funny series to begin with. Thanks for reading my review! If you liked my writing style, would like to see some other reviews, or just want to talk, please stop by my page! I can only recommend this show if you were a fan of the first season. I hoped that we would see more character development for the previous season's characters but nope a totally new fresh cast was handed the baton and they fumbled big time. Say what you want, "Oh you just hate the IP so much that you are not being unbiased in your review." If you think you are correct then by all means leave a comment below. Since this is a character driven harem show, if you do not end up liking the cast, it's going to be a show. The decent ones from last season like I said before were pretty much sidelined and very under-utilized. None of them seemed likeable and were actually quite annoying to watch. The newly added characters connected with me as much as a human's a$$ and a cactus. It's a real shame because some of the fight scenes actually looked pretty decent. It actually might have look better during some scenes but it really didn't wow me because it was obvious that they put the real mustard of effort during the ecchi scenes. All this season accomplished was putting new bait under Shido's belt and unfortunately I really did not like any of the new characters. And what the f$#^ leaving out some of the original characters almost entirely? Yoshino is pretty much sidelined and the only decent character Kurumi isn't utilized until the very end. This season in my opinion had a lot of "dead" spots where I just didn't give any sh$%s for what was going on.

I cannot believe I am saying this.but I actually think that the first season did a better job with the pacing of the arcs than this new season. It's the same as the first season plot wise mythical creature taming stud Shido has to go seal the powers of new female characters for the love of "plot". Because of money, a new season of Date a Live is here and well if you were expecting more character development from the previous season's characters then well be prepared to be very, very disappointed. *Takes a deep breath* Let's get this over with. Only time will tell if this is what she chooses. If you somehow find this show appealing to watch, I recommend you watch the first season before taking this one on. I’m still more interested in Lanzhu’s arc than anything else and it seems the seeds are being planted for her potentially joining the club. Regardless, this is another decent episode. After all, there are 13 main characters this season.

However, it’s easy for me to lose track of some of them and forget who’s who. I like that the show is shifting the focus between characters depending on the episode. Mia is one of the characters who I feel keeps getting lost in the shuffle. I still think there are far too many characters that we’re supposed to pay attention to. They just bribe her to go to the festival with a coupon for a hamburger. There’s also an interaction between some of the club members and Mia. I wonder if this will change her mind about joining the school idol club. Of course, Lanzhu and Shioriko are childhood friends and Lanzhu doesn’t look happy when she sees her with the other girls. Not only that, but we also see some conflicting emotions from Lanzhu. This is a fine story for Shioriko and it’s a nice bonding moment with her sister. She gets an offer to join the club, but she wants to postpone that until the festival is over. Shioriko performs on stage for her sister and friends and seems much happier. She ensures Shioriko that she has no regrets and that she became a teacher so she could help people, especially her. At the end of the day, they try to get her to take the stage. She refuses, but then they just treat her to a good time at the festival. Once the girls find out, they urge her to follow her dream. That way, she doesn’t have to face that kind of disappointment. She only wants to focus on what she’s good at.

Kaoruko used to be a school idol herself, but her group never made it to Love Live! Seeing her sister crushed like that made Shioriko give up on that dream. She’s helping with the festivities, but her sister mentions that Shioriko always wanted to be a school idol.

The school idol festival is in full swing and everyone’s having a blast. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. However, it’s clear that she’s not completely satisfied staying on the sidelines. The school idol festival is underway and Shioriko is working hard to make sure it runs smoothly.
